Launching „In High School in China”

 

 

It happened! After more than half a year of planning the project, editing the answers of people in United World College Changshu China, also known as my second home, finalizing conclusions and preparing for the big day, „In High School in China” has finally launched in Bucharest, Romania. Even though I have been working on this for such a long time, it is still unbelievable how quickly time has passed. This time last year I was saying good-byes before starting my 中国 (China) experience and now I am planning a summer full of IAs, EE drafts, college apps and other not really fun stuff. Among all of these not very summery expectations, the day of the launch of the book was a delightful experience, which only made me appreciate what I am living at the moment even more. O lista cu lucrurile pe care le-am facut in prima luna de UWC China

Lista mea de la UWC

Cand citesti articole despre experientele de la UWC fara sa fi trait ceva similar inainte, privesti lucrurile intr-un mod atat de diferit fata de cum e cand vezi tot desfasurandu-se in fata ta. Te gandesti “oh wow, persoana asta e atat de inteligenta incat e acolo” sau “oh wow, persoana asta e atat de curajoasa sa plece de acasa atat de devreme”. In spatele fiecarui interviu, fiecarei povesti despre experiente academice (cuvant prea sofisticat ew dar asta e) in strainatate sunt atat de multe detalii la care nu te gandesti niciodata. Culisele sunt pline de lucruri marunte la care nu te-ai gandi niciodata inainte sa pornesti in propria ta aventura.

Intrebarea care imi umbla in minte in primele zile a fost “Cum ar putea cineva sa renunte la locul asta?”. Dar destul cu dulcegariile. O sat rec direct la subiect si o sa fac un rezumat la ce s-a intamplat in ultimele saptamani de cand am plecat de acasa.
